Wireless power for autonomous robots on the moon
It looks like we will soon be delivering power wirelessly to NASA robots on the moon. Yank Technologies just won a NASA contract to to develop wireless charging solutions for autonomous vehicles on the moon.
In this TechFirst, we chat with CEO Josh Yank …
Artemis will hopefully be soon bringing rovers like NASA’s Viper to the moon.
Once there, they’ll need to charge, and Matt Damon might not always be around to set up solar panels. That means autonomous charging solutions to go with autonomous lunar robots.
Plus, the very nature of the moon: dusty, super hot and super cold, and fully exposed to both the charged solar wind and cosmic rays, means we need a bulletproof wireless charging solution that will work hundreds if not thousands of times over the course of months and years.
